Is congratulating (others) on Friday among the acts of worship?

The basic ruling regarding congratulating one another on Friday is that it falls under permissible customs, although refraining from it is preferable since it was not reported from the righteous predecessors, and because some scholars considered it an innovation. This congratulation should not be adhered to as if it were a Sunnah, lest people come to believe in its legitimacy.
