If your husband abandons you for a long period without a valid excuse, he is sinful. You have the right to bring the matter before the court to remove the harm. If the judge rules for divorce due to the impossibility of contacting him, then it is a valid and irrevocable divorce.

As for maintenance (nafaqa), you are not entitled to it for the past period unless the judge corresponds with your husband and he refuses to appear. In that case, the judge will mandate it from his wealth or rule for divorce due to non-maintenance.

In the case of divorce before consummation, you are entitled to half of the dowry.
