The answer

Intention is a condition for receiving reward for permissible acts (like cleaning the house, eating, and drinking) and obligatory acts (like expenditures and debt repayment). Reward is only obtained through the intention of seeking nearness to Allah and obeying His command, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Deeds are only by intentions, and every person will have only what he intended," and his saying: "And you will not spend any expenditure seeking thereby the Face of Allah, except that you will be rewarded for it."
