Is what a person sees in a dream and then comes true the next day a frightening or a normal thing?

The fulfillment of a vision is not frightening; rather, a truthful vision for the upright person is good tidings for him. A wicked person or a disbeliever may sometimes have a vision that comes true, as happened with the king's vision that Joseph (peace be upon him) interpreted. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Nothing remains of prophethood except the glad tidings." And the glad tidings are "the righteous vision." "The righteous vision is from Allah, and the bad dream is from Shaytan." It is "the glad tidings in the worldly life" that a believer sees or is seen for him. One does not rely on a vision for a legal ruling, but a Muslim is optimistic about it, rejoices in it, and narrates it to those he loves. As for the non-committed person, if his visions repeatedly come true, he should repent and beware that it might be a gradual enticement [istidraj].
