Why do the dead fear the Day of Resurrection after being resurrected, when they already know their fates and have spent thousands of years in their graves, either in bliss or torment?

The Day of Judgment is a day of tremendous horror. The sun will draw near, the earth will be transformed, the heavens will be rolled up, and Hellfire will be brought forth, causing believers to be fearful and anxious, even the prophets will say, "My soul, my soul!" As for the disbelievers, their fear and panic on that day will be even more intense, for they know that they have fallen short in their duty to Allah the Almighty, and they denied what came to them concerning resurrection, reckoning, Paradise, and Hellfire. Their punishment and destruction will become certain beyond a doubt, and they will wish to ransom themselves from the torment with their families. Their regret will increase due to their inability to deny anything, as all their deeds are recorded and their limbs will bear witness against them.
