What is your opinion on the amulet (hijab) that is worn for protection from envy and sorcery?

Hanging amulets, known as tamāʾim, is forbidden and a great evil (munkar), as it is a form of polytheism (shirk). The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned against them, and their prohibition has been mentioned in many religious texts. Among these is what was narrated by Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw a man wearing a ring and said, "Remove it, for it will only increase you in weakness. For if you were to die while it is upon you, you would never succeed." He (peace be upon him) also forbade hanging necklaces on camels and warned against ruqa, tamāʾim, and tiwala, considering them shirk. As for amulets made from the Qur'an or adhkār, scholars have differed regarding the permissibility of hanging them. However, the more cautious approach is to avoid them to block the means (to shirk) and to act upon the general prohibitions found in the hadīths concerning amulets.
