Is it permissible to pray behind an imam who does not recite Al-Fatiha properly, such as by omitting the tashdeed in (Iyyaka) and (Ad-Dallin) and similar words, and by saying (Adh-Dhalin) instead of (Ad-Dallin)? And must the prayers performed behind him be repeated? And is it obligatory to move to another mosque despite the family's objection?

Scholars have differed regarding the validity of the prayer of one who pronounces the letter "ض" (Dād) as "ظ" (Ẓāʾ) in Al-Fatihah, and the fatwa we adopt is that their prayer is valid. They have also differed regarding the validity of the prayer of one who omits the shaddah (doubling) in reciting Al-Fatihah. There is no harm in adopting the Hanafi madhhab, but it is more cautious to pray behind a proficient imam in another mosque. There is no need to repeat past prayers that were performed behind the imam who had the aforementioned errors.
