Praise be to Allah, scholars have mentioned that the similar yā' at the end of a word was not written by the companions in the Mus'haf. Al-Dani explained in Al-Muqni' that the yā' is omitted at the end of the word, citing the word \"yahy\" "يحي"and the verse \"Indeed, Allah is not shy.\" "إن الله لا يستحي" This has been found in the Mus'hafs of Medina and Iraq with a single yā'. Then, scholars, in their transcription of the Quran, appended the omitted part in red color or with a reduced letter size for differentiation. This can be applied in computer writing either by using red color or by reducing the font size.
