If blood continues for most of the month, the person in this state is considered to have Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding). She must act based on discrimination: whatever possesses the characteristics of menstrual blood in its color, odor, or accompanying pain is considered menstruation, provided that its duration does not exceed fifteen days, and the duration of the other blood and the days of purity are not less than fifteen or thirteen days.

If there is no valid discrimination, the menstrual days are considered to be six or seven days, determined by investigation. She should perform ghusl (ritual bath) after their expiry, and everything else is considered Istihadah.

Wudu (ablution) is required for each prayer after its time has begun, along with taking precautions against the spread of impurity. The blood that appeared in Ramadan after ten days of the previous blood's cessation is not considered a new menstruation, but rather a continuation of Istihadah.

Fasting days that were considered menstruation must be made up after Ramadan.
