Does Islam command a woman to humble herself before her fiancé who mistreats and insults her and demands that she not be bothered by his actions, claiming that religion permits him to do so, while he threatens to leave her and refuses to acknowledge his wrongdoing, knowing that his family does not condone his injustice?

The relationship between engaged individuals is akin to that between strangers, and exceeding this boundary into excessive familiarity is the cause of potential mistreatment. It is haram (forbidden) and a sin for an engaged man to insult, curse, or invoke curses upon his fiancée. The fiancé's fabrication that Islam permits him to do so is a grave lie against Allah and a statement about Him without knowledge, and it is among the greatest major sins. Islam honored women and did not come to humiliate them. Any harm inflicted by a man upon his wife permits her to seek divorce and necessitates his disciplining. It is advisable to leave this young man due to his lack of religiousness and good character.
