Some contemporary scholars have mentioned types of scientific miracles in the verse "And the heaven full of return" (السماء ذات الرجع). These include: that the heaven returns water vapor to the earth as rain, and heat at night in the form of carbon dioxide; that it reflects short and medium radio waves and what is broadcast to it of wireless and television waves; and that it returns and reflects what is thrown at it from other planets, thus protecting the earth from deadly cosmic rays and lethal ultraviolet radiation.
