Does my association with a good person after repenting from a previous relationship diminish his dignity, given my fear of the two people meeting in the future?

Praise be to Allah for protecting you from the grave indecency, for bestowing upon you repentance, and for granting you a righteous man. We advise you to accept him after performing Istikhara and seeking counsel. Do not tell anyone about what happened between you and the previous man, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever commits any of these abominations should conceal himself with Allah's concealment," and he also said: "All of my Ummah are pardoned except for those who publicize their sins."
