It is permissible to sell a commodity while it remains with the seller as a pledge until the price is paid in full, provided that its ownership transfers to the buyer upon the contract, not after the full payment of the price. It is permissible for the seller to stipulate pledging the sold item with him to guarantee the fulfillment of the deferred installments.
