The Shari'ah has permitted women to use the daff (tambourine) on occasions such as Eids, weddings, and the arrival of a traveler. This is due to what was mentioned regarding the reason for the revelation of Allah's saying: "And when they saw a transaction or a diversion, they rushed to it" (Al-Jumu'ah: 11). It was revealed concerning a caravan upon its arrival in Medina, when they beat their drums to announce their arrival, and the people went out to them.
