Does talking on the internet invalidate fasting?
Mere talk on the internet does not invalidate the fast unless it arouses lust and causes semen to be emitted, in which case the fast is invalidated. The majority of the Malikis hold that the emission of prostatic fluid (madhy) also invalidates the fast, while the majority of scholars disagree with them on this point. Shaykh al-Islam favored the view that it does not invalidate the fast. If the talk is between two non-mahram individuals and it arouses lust, then it is forbidden.
