What is the interpretation of the noble Hadith: "Three, each the son of a caliph, will fight at your treasure, then none of them will achieve it, then the black banners will appear from the East and they will slaughter you with a slaughter that no people have ever inflicted"? And who is the intended caliph and his three sons? And is he currently present? And what are the signs indicating his appearance? And what is meant by "the treasure of the Sacred Kaaba"? And who are the people of the black banners, and who are the killer and the killed in His saying "they will slaughter you with a slaughter that no people have ever inflicted"?

"The hadiths about the signs of the Hour are not to be interpreted except with evidence from revelation. The hadith in question has an authentic chain of transmission. Scholars have understood the bearers of the black banners to be the supporters of the Mahdi, based on this hadith and what was narrated in Ahmad's transmission: 'If you see the black banners coming from the direction of Khorasan, go to them, for among them is Allah's Caliph, the Mahdi.' The 'treasure' referred to is the treasure of the Kaaba, and it will not be unearthed by the bearers of the black banners, but rather by Dhul-Suwayqatayn al-Habashi. As for 'the killer and the killed,' they refer to the people of truth (the Mahdi's supporters) and those who oppose them among the people of falsehood."
