Is a person able to repel the thoughts and whispers related to images of women and dancers that come to his mind?

Whispers, thoughts, and self-talk are matters that assault the heart without a person's choice. Allah has forgiven these as long as one does not act upon them or speak them. Although a servant cannot initially prevent them, they are capable of resisting them and refraining from dwelling on them, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded their cessation by saying: "When it reaches him, let him seek refuge in Allah and desist." Ibn al-Qayyim holds that the root of corruption comes from neglected thoughts, as they are the devil's seeds in the heart. To get rid of them, one must:

1. Know that Allah is aware of your thoughts. 2. Feel shyness before Him, the Exalted. 3. Glorify Allah from seeing such thoughts in your heart. 4. Fear falling from His sight. 5. Prefer Him over others. 6. Fear that they might lead to the loss of faith. 7. Recognize that they are a trap to ensnare you. 8. Understand that they cannot coexist with thoughts of faith. 9. Know that they are a shoreless ocean in which the heart drowns. 10. Understand that these thoughts are the valley of fools and the aspirations of the ignorant.
