What is the meaning of "Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam"?

Prayer from Allah Almighty means more mercy and praise, as Al-Qurtubi said: "Prayer from Allah is His mercy and satisfaction," and Ibn Kathir: "Allah's prayer is His praise among the angels." Al-Tabari, citing Ibn Abbas, explained it as "they bless the Prophet," or that Allah has mercy on him and the angels supplicate for him and seek forgiveness. The phrase "Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam" (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) asks Allah for more mercy, praise, and safety for the Messenger, and it is a declarative statement that contains the meaning of supplication.
