Congregational prayer is obligatory for able-bodied men. An excuse for not attending it is for a guard who is protecting an important matter that he fears will be lost, such as one who guards the worshippers or organizes their entry into the Two Holy Mosques, or other public interests whose neglect would result in significant harm. These individuals must perform the prayer at its appointed time, and their attendance in congregation is waived. If it is possible to perform it in congregation at the guard station, then they must do so. And whoever is regular in congregational prayer but is prevented by an excuse from attending it will still receive its reward. Furthermore, officials must organize rotation schedules to enable guards to perform their prayers and avoid missing consecutive Friday prayers.
