Do the sons of the son inherit if the son is still alive?

The estate of the deceased, who is survived by two sons and a grandson (son of a son), and has no other heirs, shall be inherited by the two sons by way of ta’sib (agnatic inheritance) equally. The grandson receives nothing, as he is completely excluded by the son (his uncle). The fatwa cautions that matters of inheritance are complex and intricate and require referral to Shar’i courts to ensure the interests of all parties are met.
