Is it permissible to perform i'tikaf in a small tent pitched within the حرم (precincts) of the mosque and outside it, about two or three meters away from the mosque, during the last ten days of Ramadan?
If the tent is erected in the reserved courtyard of the mosque, which is considered part of it and shares its ruling, then i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) therein is valid. Otherwise, it is not valid.
