Is it obligatory to re-pray and re-fast for previous days due to ignorance of the necessity of performing ablution before each prayer for a woman experiencing irregular bleeding (istihada), and is daily ghusl (ritual bath) required?
A woman is not considered to have (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding) unless the bleeding exceeds fifteen days. A woman with istihadah should perform (ritual bath) after her regular menstrual period ends. She is required to perform wudu (ablution) for every prayer after its time has begun, while taking precautions (to prevent discharge). She may then perform the obligatory prayer and as many voluntary prayers as she wishes until the prayer time expires. If she omits wudu where it is obligatory, she may follow the Maliki opinion, which permits a woman with istihadah not to perform wudu for every prayer. It is recommended to make up the prayers as a precaution. As for her fasting, it is valid and does not need to be made up.
