Is it permissible to consider the recitation of the Qur'an from the Mushaf during the night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl) prayer as part of the monthly ختمة (completion of Qur'an recitation), and is it permissible to dedicate the reward of this ختمة to a deceased father?

It is permissible to recite and complete the Qur’an in prayer and outside of it, whether from the Mus'haf (Qur'an copy) or from memory. It is also permissible to consider this as part of a monthly ختمة (complete recitation) or not, as the matter is broad as long as the ختمة is a voluntary act and not a vowed one with a specific condition. Furthermore, it is permissible, according to the preponderant opinion, to dedicate the reward of the recitation to one's parents and to any Muslim one wishes.
