Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) foretell the Battle of Siffin between Ali ibn Abi Talib and Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, and do the hadiths such as: "The Hour will not be established until two great groups fight, between whom there will be a great slaughter, and their call is one" and "There will be two factions in my Ummah, and from between them a renegade group will emerge, whose killing will be undertaken by those who are worthier of the truth" refer to it?

Pretending prophethood is falsely claiming to be a prophet. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was not pretentious; rather, he was an informant and a conveyer of what was revealed to him. The Prophet foretold the occurrence of the Battle of Siffin, where two great factions would fight each other, both having the same call, namely the armies of Ali and Mu'awiyah. He also foretold the killing of the Kharijites at the hands of the faction closer to the truth, which applies to Ali's fighting against them, may Allah be pleased with him. He also informed that Al-Hasan ibn Ali would reconcile two great Muslim factions.
