Is it permissible to pay Zakat on money from an income other than the saved money on which a Hawl (lunar year) has passed?

If someone possesses wealth on which zakat is due, they are not obligated to pay the zakat from the exact same saved wealth. Rather, it is permissible for them to pay it from other wealth. Al-Nawawi reported the consensus of scholars on this matter.
