If you broke oaths you made, you owe expiation for each oath. This expiation is: freeing a slave, or feeding ten poor people, or clothing them. If you cannot find any of these, then fasting for three days, consecutively or separately. You should not resort to taking an oath to avoid the sin of masturbation; rather, you must be determined to abandon it, in accordance with His, the Almighty's, saying: "And guard your oaths." This is also because breaking oaths causes hardship, and for guidance, by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) advice to marry for those who are able, and to fast for those who are not able, for it is a shield for them.
