Is it true that one of the Companions wished that Allah would give him a large body so that he could block the gates of Hell with it on the Day of Resurrection?

We are not aware of anything of this sort being reported from the Companions. Allah has informed us that each gate of Hell has a portion of its inhabitants who enter through it, as in His Almighty saying: {It has seven gates; for every gate is a [specified] portion [of them]} (Al-Hijr: 44). A portion of the followers of Iblis has been decreed for each gate to enter it. So, how can it be claimed that one of the Companions wished for Allah to grant him a large body to close these gates when Allah has already decreed that? And Allah Almighty knows best.
