Is it permissible for a muezzin who uses hashish to give the call to prayer and lead people in prayer, and is it permissible to pray behind him?

The prohibition of hashish and its use is among the major sins due to its intoxicating and demonstrably harmful effects. The adhan (call to prayer) of a hashish user is disliked, and his report regarding the entry of prayer time is not to be relied upon due to his transgression. However, his adhan is valid according to the majority of scholars, differing from the Hanbalis. Praying behind him is disliked, but it is valid, according to the preponderant opinion, if he fulfills the conditions and pillars [of prayer]. He should not be appointed to lead the adhan or the prayer. However, if he calls the adhan or leads the prayer while intoxicated with hashish, his adhan and prayer are invalid due to the loss of intellect.
