How can one reconcile the verses that mention the "dahw" (spreading/flattening) of the earth after the creation of the heavens, and the verses that mention the creation of the earth before the heavens? And were the mountains established after or before the leveling of the heavens?

The Quranic verses state that Allah Almighty created the earth before the heaven, then He created the heaven, then He spread the earth with its mountains and pastures.

To resolve the apparent contradiction in the verses of Surat An-Nazi'at, which seem to indicate that the spreading of the earth and the creation of mountains occurred after the creation of the heaven, scholars reconcile them with other verses in several ways: 1. The creation mentioned in Surat Al-Baqarah (He created for you all that is in the earth) refers to a pre-ordained creation, not an actual one. Allah ordained its provisions and mountains before creating the heaven, then brought them forth actually afterwards. 2. The original earth was created before the heaven, then after the creation of the heaven, the earth was spread out and what was within it was brought forth, as if everything in it was created with the existence of its origin. 3. The meaning of "after that" in Surat An-Nazi'at is "along with that," meaning that the spreading of the earth was simultaneous with the creation of the heaven or part of it. 4. That the mountains were "firmly set" (ursiyat) after that, meaning they were stabilized, and this does not contradict their prior existence.
