If the deceased left behind only a mother, a wife, two sons, a daughter, a brother, and sisters; then the mother receives one-sixth, the wife receives one-eighth, and the remainder goes to the sons and the daughter by ta’sib (agnatic inheritance), with the male receiving the share of two females. Nothing goes to his brothers and sisters because they do not inherit when a son is present. Thus, the estate is divided into 168 shares: the mother receives 28 shares, the wife receives 21 shares, each son receives 34 shares, and the daughter receives 17 shares.
