To what extent is the hadith valid regarding Ali ibn Abi Talib's —may Allah be pleased with him— ablution, which describes the Prophet's —peace and blessings be upon him— ablution?

The aforementioned Hadith is Hasan, and it states that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for water to perform ablution (wudu') like the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). So, he washed his hands, then rinsed his mouth, sniffed water into his nose, and blew it out. Then he wiped his face three times and inserted his thumbs into the front parts of his ears. Then he poured a palmful of water on his forehead, then washed his right hand up to the elbow three times, and then his left hand likewise. Then he wiped his head and his ears from their backs, then washed his feet while they were in his sandals.
