Could you send me the translation of Ya'qub al-Ansari and his lineage?
Abu Yusuf, Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim al-Ansari al-Kufi, is the Imam, the great scholar, the jurist of the two Iraqs, and a companion of Abu Hanifa. He heard from Hisham ibn Urwah and others, and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and others narrated from him. He grew up seeking knowledge, and Abu Hanifa paid special attention to him. Al-Muzani said: Abu Yusuf used to say upon his death: "Everything I have given a fatwa about, I have retracted, except what conformed to the Book and the Sunnah," and in another wording, "except what is in the Qur'an." He was the first to be titled Qadi al-Qudat (Chief Judge), and he was called Qadi Qudat ad-Dunya (Chief Judge of the World). He passed away in the year 182 AH at the age of sixty-nine.
