Guide this person, advise him, and call him to repentance with wisdom and good admonition. Seek the help of someone who has influence over him, so that Allah may guide him. If he does not repent and return to his senses, and if boycotting him serves as a deterrent from sin, then there is no harm in boycotting him, and it is not considered severing ties of kinship, especially if associating with him causes harm.
