Scholars differ on the permissibility of a wife paying her to her husband. The view that it is permissible is stronger, based on the : "Your husband and your children are the most deserving of those to whom you give charity." It is permissible for her to pay her zakat to her poor husband, even if he spends it on her. If a wife pays her zakat to her deserving husband, he may spend it as he wishes, including paying for the children's education fees.
