Is a wife entitled to refuse her husband if he beats and injures her?

It is not permissible for a husband to beat his wife in a way that harms her, because the permitted beating, which is the beating for discipline, must be non-violent, as stated in the hadith: "Then beat them with a non-violent beating." If the husband has beaten his wife violently, he has transgressed the limits of Allah, and she has the right to bring her case before a judge and request a divorce due to this harm. It is condemned for one who beats his wife like a slave and then has intercourse with her. As for the wife's refusal of the marital bed, it is permissible if it is due to a reason that harms her, such as illness or fatigue, but it is not permissible if it is merely to punish him for his beating.
