Is it permissible to say: "Allah is my Beloved" or "O my Beloved, O Allah"?

It is permissible to describe Allah with the word "Al-Habib" (the Beloved) by way of reporting, because the believer loves Allah, and Allah loves the believers. Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, interpreted the name "Al-Wadud" (the Most Loving) as "Al-Habib." However, it must be noted that "Al-Habib" is not one of Allah's divinely established Beautiful Names (Al-Asma al-Husna), but rather it is used in the sense of reporting about Him with a quality, not as a name. Allah's names are divinely established and are only proven through revelation. When supplicating, it is preferable to supplicate to Allah using His Beautiful Names, such as "Al-Wadud." However, there is no harm in using the phrase "Ya Habibi" (O my Beloved) in supplication if the intention is the Lord of the Worlds, and this is clear from a contextual indication or from the very wording of the supplication.
