What is the ruling on torturing a five-year-old child by burning his hand with a heated knife because he committed an obscene act?

The one who burned a small child has committed a clear error and a grave offense. This is torture by fire, which is forbidden in Islamic law. The proof for this is the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "No one should punish with fire except the Lord of fire." This action contradicts mercy and indicates cruelty, especially towards a child who is not yet discerning. It is likely that anger drove her to do this, but children's mistakes should be met with deliberation and calmness, not with nervousness and revenge. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is our excellent role model in dealing with children, as he never said "Uff" to Anas ibn Malik.
