Is it permissible to append "by the number of Your creation" to ذكر (remembrance/litanies) like "O Lord of Majesty and Generosity" or "O Living, O Sustainer," or to supplications like "O Allah, forgive me," or "O Allah, have mercy on me," or "O Allah, grant me provision?"

This remembrance has great merit, and the reason for its multiplication is due to the magnificent meanings it encompasses, such as the glorification of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and not that the remembrance itself reaches that number. The saying, "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi, adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinata arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi" (Glory be to Allah and with His praise, as many times as the number of His creation, and to the extent of His pleasure, and to the weight of His Throne, and to the ink of His words) includes knowledge and veneration of Allah that transcends merely saying "Subhan Allah."

The details of this remembrance are based on specific scriptural texts (tawqif shar'i), and analogy cannot be applied to it. Adding remembrances to numbers does not multiply them in terms of quantity; rather, what matters is the number of times the remembrance is uttered. So, saying: "Subhan Allah adada khalqihi" (Glory be to Allah as many times as the number of His creation) means that Allah deserves glorification by this number, not that the uttered glorification reaches this number.

There is no basis for the phrase "Astaghfirullah adada ma khalaqa" (I seek forgiveness from Allah as many times as He has created) with the mentioned wording, and it is better to abandon it because remembrance and seeking forgiveness are acts of worship that are not valid except through specific scriptural texts. As for saying "Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum adada khalqik" (O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, as many times as Your creation) or "Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram adada khalqik" (O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, as many times as Your creation) only, this falls under the category of remembrance by a single name, which is not legislated, as the Shari'ah only recommends complete and meaningful expressions of remembrance.
