Is an emotional relationship between a non-mahram man and woman, based on exchanging words of love and pictures of eyes, considered haram and displeasing to Allah, and what is the way to cure the heart from attachment to this love?

It is impermissible for a Muslim woman to establish an emotional relationship with a man who is a stranger to her, because this was a custom of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) and Islam has forbidden it, as stated in the Almighty's قول: "Nor those who take secret lovers." It is also not permissible to give pictures or exchange expressions of love, because that is an act of disobedience.

Therefore, either the young man should propose to you, or it becomes obligatory to separate from him. Forgetting him is possible with sincere intention towards Allah.

One should be keen to associate with righteous believing women who remind one of Allah and help in obeying Him.
