Is it permissible to own money given for the purpose of buying something, if another person pays for that thing?

It is permissible to take the amount for personal use unless the donor stipulates that it be spent on a specific item. If the donor stipulates that it be spent on a specific item, then his condition must be followed, or the amount returned to him.
