ما هي الآيات الخمس التي خاطبت الأقسام الثلاثة للمسلمين: المقتصد، والسابق بالخيرات، والظالم لنفسه؟

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Allah Almighty has divided Muslims in Surah Fatir into three categories: 1. The wrongdoer to himself (ẓālimun li-nafsihi): This is one who neglects some duties and commits some forbidden acts. 2. The moderate (muqtaṣid): This is one who performs duties and abstains from forbidden acts, though he might omit some recommended acts. 3. The foremost in good deeds (sābiq bi-l-khayrāt): This is one who performs duties and recommended acts, abstains from forbidden and disliked acts, and even some permissible ones.

Ibn Abbas mentioned that these categories are the Ummah of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Their wrongdoer will be forgiven, their moderate will be held to an easy reckoning, and their foremost will enter Paradise without reckoning.

The correct view is that the wrongdoer to himself is from this Ummah, and he has mixed good deeds with bad ones.
