Is it permissible for a husband to prevent his wife from working despite her psychological and financial need, and after what she has suffered from threats of divorce and his harsh treatment of her, especially since the requested work will be free from intermixing?

If there is no condition in the marriage contract for the wife to work outside the home, then the husband has the right to prevent her, as it is not permissible for a woman to leave her house except out of necessity, or with his permission. This is indicated by the hadith: "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from Allah’s mosques," which points to the husband's right to prevent his wife from leaving even for prayer. Accordingly, it is forbidden for the wife to leave without her husband's permission or without necessity. It is advised that the spouses show understanding and patience to achieve affection.
