Does one who gives charity on behalf of the deceased, such as a parent, receive the same reward for the charity?

Giving charity on behalf of a deceased parent is an act of filial piety and kindness towards them. Its reward reaches them, and they benefit from it. The one who gives charity on their behalf is also hoped to receive a reward similar to what they donated. The Sunnah indicates that showing righteousness to parents after their death involves praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their pledges, maintaining the ties of kinship that are only connected through them, and honoring their friends. Similarly, the reward for reciting Qur'an for the deceased reaches them, and the reciter is also rewarded.
