Is it permissible for a student who has obtained an academic degree in politics, and who previously expressed views that may be contrary to religion without recalling his knowledge of their ruling at the time, to work with this degree or to apply for the next educational stage with it, and is it permissible for him to apply for an external scholarship that provides him with living expenses and tuition fees?

There is no objection to working with the certificate if the work is permissible, as are all other permissible ways of benefiting from it, such as continuing education or obtaining a scholarship. If opinions contrary to the religion are mentioned out of ignorance, their proponent is excused; but if it is done knowingly, then he must seek forgiveness and repent.
