What is the meaning of Al-Qahhar?
Al-Qahhar is one of Allah Almighty's names, derived from the word "qahr" (subduing, overcoming). He is the One before whom nothing exists except that it is subservient to His power and might, and helpless in His grasp. Al-Qahir, in its intensified form (Al-Qahhar), means the All-Capable. Its meaning reverts to the attribute of power residing in His Essence. It is also said that He is the One who compels creation to what He wills.
