The answer

Muslim narrated from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no Muslim man who dies, and forty men who do not associate anything with Allah stand over his funeral prayer, except that Allah will accept their intercession for him." And from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no deceased person for whom a community of Muslims, reaching one hundred, pray over, and all of them intercede for him, except that their intercession for him will be accepted."

These hadiths indicate the desirability of increasing the congregation for the funeral prayer and seeking to reach the mentioned number, provided that they are intercessors through sincere supplication and seeking forgiveness for the deceased, and that they are monotheistic Muslims who do not associate anything with Allah.
