Is abortion permissible if tests prove the fetus is afflicted with Down syndrome or a mental disability?

Abortion is forbidden by Islamic law because it is an aggression against a soul without right. It is not permissible unless the fetus dies in the womb or trusted doctors determine that the pregnancy poses a real danger to the mother's life. One should put their trust in Allah and be content with His decree, for all of a believer's affairs are good. If the pregnancy is with a disabled child, it is Allah's decree and destiny, and it is not permissible to avert it through what Allah has forbidden.
