Is it permissible to display the cross (+) logo of the Birmingham Health Services Authority in a pharmacy, given that there are Prophetic narrations prohibiting the retention of anything resembling a cross?

If the logo contains the shape of a cross, which Christians venerate, and it is placed in the logo specifically because it is a cross, then it is not permissible to hang or display it. The proof for this is that the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, would not leave anything in his house containing crosses without breaking them. A cross is anything in the shape of two intersecting lines. Some scholars are of the view that there is no difference whether the vertical line is longer than the horizontal one or equal to it, nor whether the upper part of the intersection of the two lines is shorter than or equal to the lower part. The condition is that it must be placed because it is a cross, unlike if it were a mathematical symbol.
