Is it permissible to walk in the funerals of polytheists who died in polytheism (slaughtering at graves, seeking intercession from their inhabitants, offering vows, and seeking their help) without having received knowledge of monotheism, and to pray for them, supplicate and seek forgiveness for them, perform Hajj on their behalf, and give charity on their behalf, taking into account Allah Almighty’s saying: "It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of Hellfire"?

It is not permissible to pray, supplicate, or seek forgiveness for someone who died a polytheist, nor to perform Hajj on their behalf or give charity for them; this is based on the Almighty's saying: "It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for polytheists, even if they were relatives," and because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked his Lord for permission to seek forgiveness for his mother, but he was not granted permission. Polytheists are not excused by their ignorance, as the evidence is clear in the Qur'an and religious scholars are available.
