Is saying "Amanah" (trust/honesty) with the the intention of verifying the truthfulness of a statement considered swearing by other than Allah, and what are examples of that and its justification?

"Trustworthiness" (Amanah) in the context of reliability and seeking truth is not an oath. However, one should avoid phrasing that suggests swearing by trust. If the intention is to swear by trustworthiness, then it is a minor shirk, because the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has disbelieved or committed shirk," and "Whoever swears by the trust (amanah) is not one of us."
